Coco & Pearl: Who we are
Welcome to Coco & Pearl! Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. My name is Hannah, and I took over this business in November 2024. Originally called Threads Bridal, the shop was established by the previous owner, Laura, in 2021. Laura began the business at Salle Moor Farm in Reepham before relocating to Lee’s Yard in Holt in November 2023.
Our goal at Coco & Pearl is to offer a more sustainable option for brides in an industry often criticised for its wastefulness. We provide a carefully curated selection of second-hand, sample, end-of-line, and occasionally new gowns, allowing brides to find a more eco-friendly and affordable option for their wedding day. By doing this, we can offer luxurious designer gowns at a fraction of the typical price.
I’ve had a passion for sewing and fashion since I was around five years old, when my mum and my grandmother taught me to sew, and it was always a field I dreamed of pursuing. After completing a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Fashion and Textiles in college, I went on to study a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design at Norwich University of the Arts. Almost every collection I created at university incorporated upcycled materials, and my final major project was inspired by bridal wear!
My love for the wedding industry grew when I started working as a wedding planner at Godwick Hall and Great Barn, which ultimately led me to Threads Bridal. I still work at Godwick today and still thoroughly enjoy my job there whilst doing my dream alongside.
Why Coco & Pearl? The name "Coco" comes from the nickname of my great-great maternal grandmother, Cleora. Cleora’s stunning wedding photo, taken in 1907, has hung on my wall since I was born, and it’s always been an image that left a lasting impression on me. I knew I wanted to incorporate that legacy into the business. And as for "Pearl"— well, who doesn’t love pearls in bridal wear?
Bridal alterations have always been a dream of mine. I spent nine months working alongside a talented seamstress at another bridal shop, where I learned invaluable skills. Combined with my experience in pattern cutting and garment manufacturing from university, I now offer bridal alterations as part of my passion-driven career. We also work with a local seamstress, Kelly, who brings years of experience and extensive industry knowledge. Both of us provide alteration services in my shop in Holt, Norfolk, making it as convenient as possible for brides.
This business is my true passion, and I’m grateful to work in it every day. Helping each bride find her perfect gown just brings me so much joy! It’s a privilege to be part of such an important moment in people’s lives, and I can’t wait to continue growing Coco & Pearl into a place where sustainability and beauty come together.
